Establishing People in God's Word

Precept News Letter

Jun, 2014

I continue to be amazed how God works! Always different. Never the same. He always surprises me and thrills my heart! Yes, and He always makes sure that we know it can only be Him!

Let Carolyne, Alan and Mary share their stories.

In Him,

Barbara Kipfer

National Coordinator

Carolyne

In 2008 Carolyne approached me to join our prison team. After successful training she has been faithfully facilitating Bible studies each week. She usually deals with those who do not fit such as a Japanese girl who stayed over a year with us. In that time the girl learned not only much more English, but also took the messages to heart. When she studied “Forgiveness: Breaking the Power of the Past” she really forgave - just before her deportation.

Life has changed for Carolyne too. She is now blessing the young adults in her church who used to have Bible studies each Sunday after church. Last year she introduced them to “Lord, I Want to Know You” which she had studied several times before. They loved it!. Even the pastor heard about it and started a sermon series on the “Names of God”.

Then the youth chose the study on forgiveness and when asked why they wanted to continue with another 40Minute study, “How Do You Walk the Walk You Talk”, they said, “We like these studies because we engage with the Word of God”.

Alan and Mary

Early in 2013 Alan and Mary, by faith, started a Bible study and it grew gradually. Mary has recently emailed me twice.

“I felt discouraged for a time, because we had begun to develop a strong group. Then I changed my job and we also changed churches. We continue to try to listen to God and try to be obedient to Him. With this in mind, we know we are doing what He wants us to. So we shall faithfully continue with our Bible Study Group, knowing that if there is only one person there, God will use this to speak to that one heart - as well as to teach us and speak to us!”

“We have five 'definites' for the next group (my husband, myself and three others). As you said, God formed our group out of nothing, so to speak, and has spoken to several people through these studies. So we are going to continue to trust Him. Please could we order: ten 'The Power of Knowing God' books.”

Then I got the photo with this comment: “This study, 'The Power of Knowing God' is proving to be excellent. We are all getting a lot out of it.”

Pray for …

  • those who are able and willing to lead Bible studies: healthy time management, good contact with their students, ongoing nourishment from His Word, lasting change.
  • opportunities to introduce our Bible studies in groups and churches
  • the continuity of Bible study groups to faithfully seek the Lord in His Word
  • many more falling in love with our Bible studies at the workshops
  • good sales at the book table at the HEART conference 20  to 22 June 2014 (home school mothers)

Thank the Lord for …
