Establishing People in God's Word

Precept News Letter

Feb, 2013

Happy New Year to you all!

It is so exciting to see how more and more people are aligning themselves with our mission and vision:

Establishing people in God's Word

to live as exemplary followers of Jesus Christ,

studying the Bible inductively,

viewing the world biblically,

making disciples intentionally, and

serving the church faithfully

in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The tasks are varied – the goal the same: From helping with the stock take, developing a new accounting system, auditing our accounts, advising and improving the website, writing procedures, ordering things, re-thinking programmes, proof-reading, attending to the prison data base, over-seeing the email Bible study, giving advice and preparing manuals to distribute so we can continue to serve as we grow. So many different people are enjoying using their God-given gifts. As the body of Christ, under His leadership, we can function as He wills. For our joy and His glory.

Already, in the first month of 2013, how is all this actually evident?

Early birds” are ordering studies, the procedures for the prison database are written and a diligent volunteer has taken the job to continue this, the accounts can be recorded in a much easier way, classes with (ex)- prisoners have started. By delegating I am set free to train more people. 8 are learning to facilitate the 40M studies and at the same time another 4 are learning to train facilitators - they want to impact the youth at their churches. Additionally, two new facilitators are due to come into prison for the first time early February.

Precept New Zealand has never, ever, given so much training in January. Thank you,God.

Nevertheless we still need more help due to this growth. There are more routine administration and manual tasks that cry out for gifted and faithful people. Additionally we need more facilitators for prisons. On our first afternoon for 2013 at Spring Hill prison we had 51 men attend!!! In one session there were 18 men (3-6 men is the ideal number per group!) We were even told that the men had turned up the previous week even though we had been told that we should not begin that week!

Should the Lord prompt you to join our high impact volunteer team please contact me as soon as possible. That is my prayer – that you would join us to serve Him in establishing people in God's Word.

For those who would like to study in a group via email, consider enroling in our Hebrews class by 11 Feb or joining an online class (like a webinar, contact me for details).

Until then.

In Him,

Barbara Kipfer

National Coordinator for Precept Ministries New Zealand

Pray for:

  • New leaders to be added to our team and for new classes beginning all over NZ

  • Key people to get in contact with us, to be trained and to lead others out of their apathy

  • People to join Precept classes: PUP and email classes, church groups, home groups, prison groups

  • More facilitators to lead studies with (ex-)prisoners

  • Training in Ashburton 15-18 Feb 2013: for God to bring the participants, for preparation, for safe travelling, for execution and for much fruit.

  • A safe trip for pallet of books en route from the USA

Thank the Lord for:

  • Being able to celebrate His Son's Birthday

  • giving us a refreshing break

  • Providing work for an ex-prisoner

  • Providing far and beyond my imagination: spiritually, financially, support, people, friendships in Him

PS: We are financially self-supporting.
Expenses (book handling, mail out, advertising, administration costs, purchase of books etc) are fully paid from our income (book sales and donations).
