Establishing People in God's Word

Precept News Letter

May, 2013

Do you sometimes take stock of what the Lord has achieved through you?

One of my mentors taught me the value of doing that by asking myself 3 questions:

  1. What have I achieved in the last few weeks?
  2. What are the issues or unresolved matters or challenges facing me?
  3. How is my work/life balance? Am I keeping fit, having time with God, having relaxation and rest?

First, rejoice with me as I show you what has happened so far in 2013.

  • our team of 12 prison facilitators has given out over 200 Bible studies and 100 gold certificates to those who participated in and diligently completed a 6 week 40Minute study
  • 15 individuals have been trained to lead 40 Minute studies - their groups are settling and now the demand is again increasing
many emails and Bible studies (the pallet of new Bible studies has arrived) have been sent out to over 40 groups which study the Word of God inductively each week
  • 3 part-time volunteers have come alongside to assist with office tasks
  • all administrative tasks that were due have been completed and submitted on time
  • facilitator meeting with spouses and 4 ex-prisoners who continue to study with Precept - 2 of the 4 are still looking for work
  • organisation completed for upcoming bookstalls and workshops at HEART conferences during the year

This beautiful summer with its warm and long evenings made it easy for me to exercise and be refreshed mentally. Maintaining my daily routine to study His word has been invaluable in keeping me sane.

Nevertheless there are still a few “mountains” to overcome. With His promise they will become valleys:

“Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers onto His harvest.” Matthew 9:38

1. We have a real need for even more facilitators from anywhere in New Zealand. They must have a Biblical world view and are needed for prison and outside.
2. A Personal Assistant for me, preferably with previous experience in New Zealand in a school office or as a receptionist in a medical surgery. Excellence in both oral and written English is essential as well as being computer literate.

Thank you for rejoicing and praying with us.

My special thank you goes out to all of you who are involved by spreading the Word of God and His Light and so expelling the darkness.

In Him,

Barbara Kipfer
National Coordinator
