Establishing People in God's Word

Precept News Letter

Nov, 2013

A home school mother prays:

“Lord, thank you for Barbara and her heart to see people reading Your word and understanding it. May many mothers choose these studies for themselves and their children and may Your Spirit touch each person who works through them. Open our eyes, ears and hearts to what You are saying and make Your Word become alive to us all. May these studies become the basis of a firm foundation for studying Your word. May these studies teach us a way of asking questions to uncover the Truth that is waiting for us to be found. May Your word be a lamp unto our feet and a light on the path of righteousness. Most of all please would Your Holy Spirit reveal more of Jesus to us. May the revelations we receive change or hearts.
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for giving us Your Word. I ask all these thing in the name of Jesus.
Amen”

This prayer is being answered in a bigger way than she could have imagined:

1. Introduction Workshop at a local church

A friend recommended that she should find out how these studies work and so she got some other friends together for a free introduction workshop. Here is what the group had to say:

  • I did not see this when we read it the first time, but now … it's RICH!
  • Wow, that really came alive!
  • It's challenged me in my life-style. Do others speak about the faith they see in me?
  • I'm in a home group and I don't really like going because I am sitting there wondering whether what the person at the front is saying is right. I'd rather do an inductive Bible study. I bought e NISBible a year ago and would love to use it with others.
  • That was good! We'll talk to our friends and order online.
  • And then came an email of one attendee: “Thank you so much for your time on Saturday. I so enjoyed meeting you and seeing the Precept process unfold SO MUCH in that passage in Thessalonians. Thank you!”

2. Responses from prisoners

“Having a real Relationship with God” has helped me to reconfirm my faith in God, be regular with my prayer life and reading of God’s word and to live by it.

“How do You Walk the Walk You Talk”  is a very good Bible study. It helped me to reconfirm the importance of God in my life and the importance of reading the word of God and to walk God’s walk.

“Forgiveness, Breaking the Power of the Past” has been a joy to study. I know now how to forgive people of any wrongdoings that they do to me and I have been able to forgive and break away from the past wrongs that people have done to me, just as Joseph forgave his brothers for the wrongs they did upon him.
I have put on love, kindness and a heart of compassion. I have been able to move on with my life now and not dwell on the anger and malice I used to have thanks to this study.  I am seriously able to release the pressures that once used to lay upon my shoulders all these years.  For this I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiving me and for all of us so we can be free of any sin given by our forefathers. Thank you, Lord, for teaching me to forgive.

Let us continue to pray and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

In Him,

Pray for:

  • those who want to discover Truth for themselves – that they get in contact with us
  • more new leaders and students to emerge and for new classes to begin all over New Zealand
  • a volunteer to do administration tasks in the office – training will be provided
  • more facilitators, with a biblical worldview, to lead studies with prisoners and ex-prisoners
  • those who are now planning for 2014 - that they consider using Precept Bible studies as part of their programme and that they will also book training to prepare leaders

Thank the Lord for:

  • His continued provision in every way
