Establishing People in God's Word

Precept News Letter

Mar, 2014

This month both students and facilitators, young and old, share how Precept Bible studies are impacting them. God's Word is resounding in our prisons and in home-schooled families. You may not be in prison, or even home-schooling, but you may have a story that is to be shared. Please send it to us and let us rejoice with you as God works in your life.
In Him,
Barbara Kipfer
National Coordinator

New facilitators at the women's prison

Anna wrote: “Well it was another valuable learning experience for me to see another aspect of Bible study there, since we were in high security (quite a different atmosphere, isn't it). And I was able to see another one-off Bible study and also the first lesson of "How to Make Choices You won't Regret”. The women were so very engaged. It was so good to be there.”

Connie, a Chinese lady, said on our way to prison: “Will the girls like me? I am so different!” 2 hours later she beamed: “I shared Psalm 23 with her. She has never read the Bible before and wrote it out in Chinese and English so she can read it again. She asked me “Where can I get a book (Bible) like yours?”

A Homeschool mother

This morning we have had a good time getting back into it and enjoyed our Daniel study again! Amazing that the boys remember so much from last time and they loved it!! Thanks!

You are a Brave Man, Daniel!

From Prison

They were satisfied with the new insights about forgiveness from God's Word. It was time to ask them to act upon their new knowledge of God's goodness for them. - “You are a weird lady” said one and a few moments later she indicated that she had accepted that this information to be true, true for her and so she acted upon it. Then she looked up with a warm smile and said “The weight has lifted!”

“Bible study comforts my heart and makes me feel at peace.”

“Stop and think, look over the whole scenario, and listen to the Almighty. He shall guide you in the right direction ...”

“Do you remember me?” a girl called interrupting her game of volleyball. When she said her name, her facilitator vaguely remembered. “You took our Bible study 2 years ago and I was saying a lot of negative stuff about church. I had to think about that in the meantime! It was wrong. I have changed my mind. I wanted to tell you!”

A prisoner shared that nine months previously he used to scoff at Christianity." He then quoted Romans 10:9 and a quiet smile lit up his face. “Jesus saved me, I am at peace now!”

Pray for …

  • people to contact us to join our team for prison, start their own classes, study inductively or train to lead
  • our bookstalls at various venues in New Zealand this month - that people would purchase our Bible studies
  • finances – to continue coming in, including for prison
  • volunteer(s) to facilitate Bible studies
  • volunteer(s) to help with administration

Thank the Lord for …

  • four new facilitators starting to lead Precept Bible studies this month
  • all those praying, giving, leading classes and studying with us :-)

We are financially self-supporting.
Expenses (book handling, mail out, advertising, administration costs, purchase of books etc) are fully paid from our income (book sales and donations).
