Start a group

Pray: Ask the Lord

  1. Am I ready to lead a Precept Bible study? If yes, give me the confidence to start.
  2. Do I have the necessary time and skills?
  3. Who do You want me to invite?
  4. Which Precept study do You want me to use? What are my and my group’s needs, time constraints, and previous Bible study experience?
  5. When and where should we meet, for how long? Online? In a home? An hour? Weekly? Every second week? Monthly?

Get equipped

  1. Do I need training? Intensive studies, PUP, require training.
  2. Would I profit from a training workshop to develop my study and leadership skills? — We should all be continually growing and learning!
  3. Would it be profitable for me to join a group first before facilitating a study?

Invite

One on one? A small group of 3-6 where all can participate easily? A bigger group?

  1. Decide on place, days and times and length of study that suits you and the people you want to invite. Make sure your participants have enough time to order and receive their study book before your starting date.
  2. Please, Lord, send me the people You want to participate in my group.
  3. Spread the word promoting your group: Is there someone in your church or community that would like to be a part of your group? Is there a group of friends that you could approach about studying God’s Word together? Can you put it in your church newsletter? Create an event and post to social media?

Meet

  1. Familiarize yourself with the study. It is recommended to complete the first lesson in advance.
  2. Pray for yourself and the members of your group.
  3. Confirm your meeting location and time. Send out reminder emails closer to the time.
